PHLPost commemorates Philippines 80-year UN membership

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Post Corp. (PHLPost) released a stamp commemorating the 80th year of the country’s membership in the United Nations.
In a Facebook post, PHLPost said it partnered with the Department of Foreign Affairs in issuing the UN80 Commemorative Stamp.
The stamp launch, with the theme “The Philippines’ 80 Years in the United Nations: A Journey of Hope & Endeavor,” was held at the historic Old Senate Building of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Manila.
The commemorative issue marks the celebration of the country’s commitment to multilateral cooperation, peace and development and highlights the Philippines’ contributions and engagement to the UN since becoming one of the founding signatories on June 26, 1945.
Postmaster General Luis Carlos said, “The unveiling of the UN80 stamps is a powerful reminder that the smallest objects can hold the largest meanings. These symbols represent decades of cooperation, advocacy and a shared commitment to peace, development and global solidarity.”
In his keynote address, Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo reflected on the Philippines’ legacy and evolving role in the UN over the past eight decades.
