BOC seizes P7.9 million kush in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has intercepted 10 parcels containing kush, a high-grade variant of marijuana, with an estimated street value of P7.9 million at the Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay City.
The BOC conducted the operation in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group.
Authorities seized 5.703 kilos of kush consigned to different recipients.
The contraband was sent to the PDEA laboratory unit for further investigation and case buildup.
The BOC said charges of violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, as well as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act would be filed against those involved in the smuggling of kush.
“We understand the dangers illegal drugs bring to our families and community. That’s why we are stepping up our inspections, working closely with other agencies and using every tool we have to stop these banned substances before these slip past our borders,” Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio said. “This is not just about enforcement – it’s about protecting lives and securing our future.”
