CEBU, Philippines — The chief of Philippine National Police, Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil, visited the Police Regional Office-7 the other day to lead a command conference to assess and strengthen security preparations for the upcoming 2025 midterm national and local elections.
Marbil and his delegation arrived at Camp Lapu-Lapu, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City and were welcomed by key officials of PRO-7.
During the conference, his first command engagement with PRO-7 under his term, PRO-7 regional director Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan presented the accomplishments of the regional office from January to April 30, 2025, highlighting notable gains in crime prevention, operations, and community-based policing initiatives.

“His directive is clear: zero election-related violence. PRO-7 is ready and committed. We stand united with our partners and communities in ensuring the integrity of the 2025 elections,” said Maranan in a statement.
Marbil also conducted a brief dialogue with PRO-7 personnel, checking on their operational readiness and encouraging them to uphold professionalism, impartiality, and vigilance throughout the election period.
As part of the visit, awards were also presented to commend the bravery and sacrifice of PNP personnel.
