Volunteers gipamusil, duha patay

CEBU, Philippines — Nisangpot sa trahedya ang adlaw sa piniliay sa Silay City, Negros Occidental tungod sa insidente sa pagpamusil kagahapon, Lunes, alas 7:00 sa buntag nga mikalas sa kinabuhi sa duha ka mga tawo ug lima ang naangol sa Barangay Mambulac.

Sa taho sa The Freeman, ang igsuong pamantalaan sa Banat News, daling miresponde ang mga awtoridad sa Silay City Component Police Station (CCPS) human makadawat og emergency call gikan sa usa ka concerned citizen.

Base sa inisyal nga imbestigasyon sa CCPS, si Arnie Benedicto, Barangay Chairman sa Barangay Lantad, uban sa duha ka wala mailhing mga kauban, giingong kalit namusil  sa mga biktima nga mga "volunteer watchdogs batok sa vote buying."

Gikataho nga ang pagpamusil nahitabo gawas sa headquarters sa usa ka political party.  Ang pito ka mga biktima daling gidala sa tambalanan, diin duha ang gideklarar nga dead on arrival samtang ang lima giatiman pa sa tambalanan. Daling misibat ang mga mamumuno.

Si PBGen Arnold Thomas C. Ibay, direktor sa Police Regional Office - Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), nikondena sa nahitabo.

“We strongly condemn this act of violence. The full force of the law is being applied to apprehend the suspects. We assure the people of Silay and the entire region that security forces are fully mobilized to protect our communities, especially during this critical election period,” matud ni Ibay.

Sa laing bahin, si Silay City Mayor Joedith C. Gallego nagpagawas og opisyal nga pamahayag  nga nagkondena sab sa maong insidente.

“I strongly condemn this cowardly attack. Violence has no place in our community—especially not when used to silence those who seek truth, fairness, and accountability,” matud ni Gallego.

 “This is not just a political issue. This is a moral one,” dugang pa ni Gallego. (BANAT NEWS)
