MANILA, Philippines — Eighty-five wanted people were apprehended by the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group last week.

CIDG director Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre said the fugitives have warrants of arrest for murder, rape, cybercrimes, acts of lasciviousness, estafa, qualified theft, illegal recruitment and drug offenses.

Of the number, 38 fugitives were nabbed in Luzon. Thirty-three wanted people were captured in Mindanao and 14 in the Visayas.

Six of the fugitives were considered as most wanted at the regional level and eight were listed at the provincial level.

In a separate operation, CIDG agents arrested four suspects in Binondo, Manila for illegally selling slimming coffee worth P300,000 on May 16.

The product was reportedly not registered with the Food and Drug Administration, police said.
