?50M drugs in Central Visayas seized from May 18 to 24
CEBU, Philippines — The Police Regional Office-7 (PRO-7) reported the arrest of 259 individuals and the seizure of illegal drugs valued at over ?50.6 million in its intensified anti-criminality campaign across Central Visayas following a series of operations conducted from May 18 to 24, 2025.
As part of its sustained drive against illegal drugs, PRO-7 conducted 115 anti-drug operations, arresting 133 suspects and confiscating approximately 7.4 kilograms of shabu, with a standard drug price of ?50,671,424, along with four grams of marijuana.
In its campaign against loose firearms, PRO-7 conducted 23 operations, which resulted in the confiscation of 29 firearms, two explosives, and 223 rounds of ammunition.
A total of 18 individuals were arrested for illegal possession of the firearms and explosives.
Police also apprehended 76 wanted persons, including 17 most wanted persons in Region 7.
PRO-7 regional director Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan lauded the operating units for their accomplishments.
“These achievements are the result of relentless efforts and intelligence-driven operations by our men and women in uniform. The safety and security of our communities remain our top priority,” he said.
PRO-7 urged the public to remain vigilant and to support ongoing operations by reporting suspicious activities and participating in community-based safety initiatives. — (FREEMAN)
