Ombudsman Martires gikiha ni Garcia

CEBU, Philippines — Gipasakaan og kaso ni Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia si Ombudsman Samuel Martires diha sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) nunot sa matud pa election offense nga nahimo niini pagpagawas og preventive suspension batok kaniya.

Sa iyang napulo ka pahinang affidavit-complaint,  gipasanginlan ni Garcia si Martires nga nakalapas sa Article XXII, Section 261(x) of Batas Pambansa Blg. 881 o  Omnibus Election Code.

Matud pa sa gobernador  si Martires miisyu og preventive suspension sa sulod sa 90-adlaw nga  gidili sa balaod subay sa Section 261(x), Article XXII of the Omnibus Election Code and Sections 15 and 16 sa Comelec Resolution No. 11059.

“Notably, the Order was issued and served on 29 April 2025, well within the 90-day prohibited period before the 12 May 2025 elections. The Order emphasized that it was immediately executory, immune to any motion, appeal, or petition unless otherwise enjoined by the Ombudsman or a competent court,” matud pa sa iyang reklamo.

Midugang ang gobernador nga ang preventive suspension order nga upat ka pahina, walay kopya sa reklamo o bisan unsang attachment.

Ang gobernador gikasohan og Grave Abuse of Authority, Gross Misconduct, Serious Dishonesty, Gross Negligence, Conduct Prejudicial to the Best Interest of the Service and violation of Republic Act No. 6713 (Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees).

“Worse, the Preventive Suspension order was issued and served without any written approval from this Honorable Commission,”matud niya.
