Calendar of activities for BARMM polls out
MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has released the calendar of activities for the holding of the first parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in October.
Under Resolution 11132, the Comelec noted the dates of election and campaign periods as well as acts that are prohibited during the electoral exercises.
The poll body said the deadline for the posting of computerized lists of voters and candidates is on Aug. 7 and 9, respectively.
The election period will run from Aug. 14 to Oct. 28, while the campaign period from Aug. 28 to Oct. 11.
Carrying of firearms and other deadly weapons, use of security personnel, suspension of elective officials and transfer of civil servants are prohibited during the election period.
Candidates and their relatives are prohibited from giving donations, disbursing public funds, engaging in public works and promoting or granting salary increases to public workers.
Selling, buying or serving alcoholic drinks are not allowed on the eve of the election.
